Martin County Deputies Investigate Hobe Sound Shooting; Victim Airlifted, One Person Detained

The Martin County Sheriff's Office is investigating a shooting Wednesday night in Hobe Sound's Banner Lake neighborhood. The shooting left one person with life-threatening injuries.

It happened around 8 p.m. Oct. 14 on SE Citrus Way, off Florida Avenue, according to CBS12. Neighbors said they heard three gunshots.

The victim was flown to a hospital. Deputies detained one other person and questioned them. Authorities have not released the name, age or any other details of either person, and no arrest or charges had been announced as of Thursday afternoon.

Detectives collected evidence at the scene. The sheriff's office said it would be working through the night to determine what led to the shooting, and that it would provide an update Thursday.
