Town Attorney Contract Amended with Rate Increase

During the February 17 meeting, the Council passed Resolution 40-26, amending the agreement with Town Attorney Thomas Baird. The hourly administrative rate increased from $400 to $450, and the litigation rate rose to $500. This adjustment, the first since 2023, reflects rising legal expenses and ensures the Town retains experienced counsel for complex cases, such as the ongoing $1.5 million litigation regarding a raw water main break.
