New Fire Safety Standards Advance as Jupiter Fire Rescue Continues Expansion

Public safety remained a key focus during Tuesday night's Town Council meeting as officials received an update from Jupiter Fire Rescue Department and advanced new fire safety regulations.
Council approved the first reading of Ordinance 11-26, which would formally adopt the Florida Fire Prevention Code and Uniform Fire Safety Standards into the Town Code.
The action comes as Jupiter continues building out its municipal fire rescue operations following the recent launch of Jupiter Fire Rescue Department. The proposed code updates are intended to ensure local regulations remain aligned with statewide safety standards.
The ordinance is scheduled to return for a second reading later this month.
