Man, 25, Killed in Single-Vehicle Crash on Pratt Whitney Road

JUPITER, Fla. – A 25-year-old man from Palm Beach Gardens died Sunday night after his car left the roadway and struck multiple trees in Jupiter, the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said.

The victim has been identified as Chase Harris Cole. He was pronounced deceased at the scene at 9:46 p.m. by Palm Beach County Fire Rescue.

According to investigators, the crash happened around 9:32 p.m. in the 1500 block of Pratt Whitney Road. Cole was driving a 2025 Volkswagen Jetta westbound when he failed to negotiate a curve in the road. Instead of turning right with the roadway, the car continued straight onto the grassy shoulder.

The front and driver’s-side portions of the Jetta then collided with several trees, coming to an uncontrolled stop.

Authorities noted Cole was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. Alcohol or drugs do not appear to have been an immediate factor, though the investigation remains ongoing.

The case is being handled by PBSO Traffic Division Investigator Juan Pinzon. Officials confirmed that next-of-kin has been notified.
