Jupiter Warriors Softball Dominates Playoffs, Advances to State Final Four

The Jupiter High School Warriors softball team is heading to the state final four after a dominant playoff run that saw them defeat Orlando-Boone 7-1 in the regional semifinals and cruise past Centennial 15-0 in the regional final.

Jupiter (22-3) advances to the state semifinal on May 19 at Boombah-Soldiers Creek Park in Longwood. The Warriors last reached the state final four in 2024.

Regional Semifinal: Jupiter 7, Orlando-Boone 1

What a year it's been for Jupiter High School's girls' softball team. A 20-3 record and a district title led them to claim a No. 1 seed in the regional tournament, earning home-field advantage throughout.

On Tuesday, May 13, the Warriors hosted Orlando-Boone in the Region 2-7A semifinals. Jupiter found themselves down 1-0 heading into the fourth inning, but with bases loaded, Sawyer Clement roped one out to left field, clearing the bags and putting 3 runs on the board for Jupiter.

In the fifth inning, the Warriors rallied and added a few more runs to cushion their lead, ultimately defeating Boone 7-1 to advance to the regional finals.

"They really believe in themselves to get the line moving," said Jupiter softball coach Steve Ahern. "There was a middle of the game where things weren't going our way, but we can get the line moving, get people on base at any time in the order, and that's what they believe in, and they've done a great job doing that."

Regional Final: Jupiter 15, Centennial 0 (3 innings)

Two days later, on Thursday night, May 15, the Warriors put on an offensive clinic at home, crushing Centennial 15-0 in just three innings to win the 7A regional final.

Jupiter recorded 18 hits in the victory against the Eagles (10-14). They took a 2-0 lead in the first inning, then exploded for 10 runs in the second inning, and added three more runs in the third to trigger the mercy rule.

"They have been hitting the ball well all year," Coach Ahern said. "We have been pretty strong one through nine all year long. We can get the line moving anywhere in the lineup and that really helps. This team is locked in and they have a lot of fun playing softball together. They really enjoy competing and that is all you can ask for."

Standout Performances in Regional Final

Freshman pitcher Avalowe Fitzgerald was dominant on the mound, pitching three scoreless innings while allowing just three hits and one walk with three strikeouts. She also contributed at the plate with two hits including a double, two RBIs and two runs scored.

"It's been a great season and such a fun experience," Fitzgerald said. "I know they have my back and I trust them to help me out. The job is not done. I just need to stay focused and locked in."

Senior catcher Sam Basen, an FAU signee, launched a two-run home run and scored twice. "It's a great feeling to see the team grow throughout the season," Basen said. "We have worked hard and it's been a team effort. We are so connected as a team and we all trust each other."

Sophomore first baseman Ainsley Graybeal went 3 for 3 with a two-run home run, a double and two runs scored. "We have put in so much work at practice," Graybeal said. "We ended last year in the regional final so it's an amazing feeling to win it this year."
