Jupiter's 5-Year Investment Plan Targets Park Fields, New Fire Station, and A1A Beach Showers

Jupiter Town Council held a special meeting on Tuesday, September 9th, to review its Community Investment Program — a five-year roadmap of major capital projects across town.

Park fields get a refresh. The Parks and Recreation Department is proposing an overhaul of all athletic fields at Jupiter Community Park. Starting in 2027, two fields would receive new natural grass at a cost of $1.26 million, with two additional fields transitioning to artificial turf in 2029 and 2030.

Abacoa Fire Station becomes Fire Station 11. One of the largest single-project line items is a $4+ million renovation of the current Abacoa Fire Station, which Palm Beach County will hand over to the town when Jupiter's new municipal fire rescue service launches October 1st. Planned upgrades include a new bunk room, decontamination facilities, kitchen renovation, and a new roof. Construction is slated to begin in 2028.

Beach showers along A1A finally get fixed. After years of resident complaints about poor drainage and aging infrastructure, the town plans to replace all 25 public showers along A1A over the next eight years. A pilot shower installed last year proved successful, and two showers north of Marcinski Road are first in line.

If the council approves the project list on first reading Tuesday night, a final vote is expected later this month.
