Jupiter Homeowners to Receive Fire Assessment Notices Next Week Ahead of June Public Hearing
JUPITER, FL — Jupiter residents will soon get a clearer picture of how the town plans to fund its fire rescue services moving forward. Starting Tuesday, May 26, personalized letters will be mailed to local property owners detailing a proposed new non-ad valorem assessment for fire rescue services.
The proposed fee is part of a structural funding change. If approved, it will replace the current Palm Beach County Fire Rescue fee on property tax bills beginning October 1, 2026.
While town officials stress that this is a restructuring of how the service is billed, residents will have the opportunity to review their specific rates and voice their opinions soon. The Town Council has scheduled a final public hearing for June 16, 2026, at 7:00 PM in the Town Council Chambers, where community members can provide direct input before the rates are finalized.
To accommodate the shifting logistics of the town's emergency services, Jupiter recently awarded a $477,046 contract to renovate Public Works Building "A," which will be converted into a dedicated Fire Rescue Logistics facility.
