Florida Voucher Demand Spurs Jupiter Christian School’s $68 Million Campus Proposal

UPPER JUPITER, Fla. — Jupiter Christian School, which currently serves 1,100 students with a waiting list of 700, has proposed a new $68 million campus to accommodate growing enrollment driven in part by Florida’s school voucher program.

The school’s leadership says the campus will open with 1,200 students, fewer than the 2,000 used in the town’s initial traffic study, which raised concerns about morning congestion on Indiantown Road. School officials are emphasizing that the project will balance growth with community benefits, including:
Hometown Hero Housing for teachers, firefighters, police, and town employees
Preservation of uplands and donation of the Blue Waterway Canal to the Town of Jupiter
Infrastructure improvements, including plans for Island Way South
Partnerships with Palm Beach State College, Palm Beach Atlantic University, and Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University for future Career & Technical Education programs
Continued collaboration with Jupiter Tequesta Athletic Association for athletic fields and youth programming
“We’re demonstrating how a legacy institution can lead with vision and strategy,” said a school spokesperson. “Investing in the town of Jupiter is a central focus.”
The proposal reflects the broader impact of Florida’s voucher program, which has led to growth in private schools even as some public schools see declining enrollment.
