Florida Department of Health Issues Water Quality Advisory for DuBois Park

JUPITER, Fla. (August 5, 2026) — The Florida Department of Health in Palm Beach County has issued a water quality health advisory for DuBois Park following routine water sampling that detected elevated levels of Enterococcus bacteria above Florida's recreational water quality standards.

Health officials are advising residents and visitors to avoid all water-related activities at the park, including swimming, wading, and other forms of water recreation, due to an increased risk of illness associated with elevated bacteria levels.

The advisory was issued after water samples collected during the county's regular beach water monitoring program exceeded the threshold established by the Florida Department of Health. Enterococcus bacteria are used as an indicator of possible fecal contamination in recreational waters and may increase the risk of gastrointestinal illness and other infections for swimmers.

The Department of Health will continue to monitor water quality at DuBois Park and will lift the advisory once testing confirms bacteria levels have returned to acceptable health standards.

Residents are encouraged to check current beach conditions before visiting and follow all posted advisories.
