Jupiter Fishing Report
🔥 Best bet: Snook. Reports immediately north of Jupiter on the Treasure Coast describe the August snook bite as excellent, including quality fish over 40 inches, particularly around the inlet. That makes Jupiter Inlet, bridges, seawalls and nearby beaches strong targets.
Fish live pilchards, mullet or croakers around moving water. Artificial anglers can throw flair-hawk style jigs around deeper inlet water and bridges, or paddletails/topwaters around sunrise.
🌊 Offshore: With roughly 2-ft seas forecast to begin the week, Monday/Tuesday currently look attractive for running outside. I’d look for kingfish and bonito nearshore, then mahi farther offshore around weed lines, debris and birds. Bottom fishermen should work reefs/wrecks for snapper, especially around dawn or toward evening.
🏖️ Beach/inlet: Snook and tarpon are the headline targets. Walk the beach at first light and sight-fish troughs rather than automatically casting far offshore. Keep a rod rigged for jacks and tarpon moving through bait schools.
Game plan
| Day | Outlook | Where I'd fish |
|---|---|---|
| Mon 8/10 | ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ | Offshore early / inlet |
| Tue 8/11 | ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ | Offshore early / beach snook |
| Wed 8/12 | ⭐⭐⭐⭐ | Inlet + nearshore AM |
| Thu 8/13 | ⭐⭐⭐⭐ | Inlet / ICW early |
| Fri 8/14 | ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ | Offshore + beach |
| Sat 8/15 | ⭐⭐⭐⭐ | Early morning; watch showers |
| Sun 8/16 | ⭐⭐⭐⭐ | Inlet/beach early |
The early-week ratings have the highest confidence because that's where the NOAA marine forecast is strongest; I'd recheck winds/seas before making a long offshore run later in the week. Fresh Jupiter reports are also showing active fishing locally this August.
🏆 If I had one morning to fish
I'd choose Monday or Tuesday, launch before sunrise, grab live bait and fish Jupiter Inlet around the moving tide for snook/tarpon. If the ocean is genuinely around 2 ft and comfortable, I'd then head outside and look for bait/kingfish before deciding whether to run farther for mahi.
For bait and same-morning local intel, Jupiter Bait & Tackle or Fishing Headquarters would be useful stops.
One important note: Jupiter Inlet can get rough despite otherwise decent offshore conditions because of strong tidal current opposing the wind/swell, so judge the inlet itself before committing to an offshore run.
