Jupiter Fishing Report
Jupiter, Florida Fishing Report — May 20,2026
Fishing around Jupiter Inlet has been very solid this week, especially for anglers getting offshore early before the afternoon storms and wind shifts. Water temps are warming into late-spring patterns, and both inshore and offshore bites are active.
Offshore
Mahi fishing continues to improve offshore of Jupiter, though the fish have been scattered due to changing weed lines and recent storms. Most productive water has been in the 90–300 ft range, with better reports farther offshore around floating debris and cleaner weed patches. Blackfin tuna remain active in 200–300 ft depths, especially early morning on vertical jigs and live bait. Kingfish action has been strong along the 120 ft ledge at sunrise. (Florida Sportsman)
Sailfish are still around in smaller numbers, especially around current edges and temperature breaks offshore. Some local charter reports mention decent action when anglers can locate schools and working birds. (Captain Experiences)
Inshore & Inlet
Snook fishing is heating up around bridges, docks, seawalls, and inlet structure as fish begin staging for summer spawning. Live croakers, pilchards, mullet, and pinfish have been producing best. Early morning topwater action has also been good around seawalls and mangroves. (snooknookfl.com)
Tarpon activity has picked up significantly around channel edges and the inlet, especially during moving tides at sunrise and sunset. Live mullet and crabs are getting the best bites right now. Big jack crevalle are mixed in around the same areas providing nonstop action. (Florida Sportsman)
Pompano reports have slowed a bit compared to earlier spring, but a few fish are still being caught near the inlet and along the beaches on jigs and sand fleas. Mangrove snapper and mutton snapper action has also improved offshore on live sardines and bonita chunks. (Juno Bait)
Best Bets This Week
- Offshore: Mahi, blackfin tuna, kingfish
- Inshore: Snook, tarpon, jack crevalle
- Best time: Sunrise through mid-morning before storms and boat traffic
- Best conditions: Moving tide with cleaner green-blue water around the inlet
Suggested Tactics
- Troll weedless baits around weed lines for mahi
- Vertical jig in 200–300 ft for blackfin tuna
- Fish live croakers/pilchards around bridge pilings for snook
- Drift live mullet along channel edges for tarpon
Weather & Conditions
Expect typical late-May South Florida conditions: lighter southeast winds in the mornings with thunderstorms building in the afternoon. Early launches will give you the best shot at cleaner water and calmer seas. (Florida Sportsman)
Tight lines this week around Jupiter — the summer bite is definitely starting to turn on.
