Offshore Outlook
The Mahi-mahi (Dolphin) bite is the headline this weekend.
- The Bite: Reported as "on fire" in 140–1000 ft of water. Look for well-formed weed lines, birds, and floating debris.
- Tactics: Trolling small ballyhoo, squid, or bonita strips is working well. If you find a productive area, chumming with sardine chunks can bring a school right to the boat.
- Other Species: Blackfin Tuna are solid in 200–300 ft, while Mutton Snapper and the occasional Cobia are being pulled from the bottom in 90–100 ft.
Inshore & Nearshore - Snook: They are currently in a pre-spawn pattern and feeding aggressively. Best luck is at night around bridge shadow lines and dock lights. During the day, stick to seawalls with live bait.
- Surf/Pier: The Juno Beach Pier is seeing Pompano (best in the early morning) along with large Jacks and some Spanish Mackerel.
- Inlet: Keep an eye out for late-season Bluefish passing through the Jupiter Inlet.
Conditions & Tides - Expect unseasonable heat this weekend with highs reaching 87°F.
