Harmony in Jupiter: Young Musicians Take Center Stage at Special Concert & Auction

An evening of music, talent, and community spirit is set to take the stage in Jupiter as the Jupiter High School Band program hosts a special concert and silent auction on March 18. The event will showcase the school’s award-winning Jazz Band, Wind Symphony, and Symphonic Band, offering attendees a dynamic performance led in part by guest conductor and renowned American composer Michael Markowski. As part of a three-day residency, Markowski will work closely with student musicians—rehearsing, mentoring, and ultimately performing alongside them. The experience gives students a rare opportunity to collaborate directly with a contemporary composer, deepening their understanding of the music and elevating their performance skills. The concert program will include several of Markowski’s well-known works, such as “Joyride,” “City Trees,” and “Vigilante.” Beyond the performance, the residency provides a meaningful artistic exchange, helping students build confidence, refine their musicianship, and gain real-world insight into the creative process. In addition to the concert, guests can participate in a silent auction featuring a range of items, including golf packages, hotel stays, and fishing charters. Organizers are also inviting local businesses and community members to contribute auction items in support of the program. “We are incredibly grateful for the ongoing support of our community,” said Ryan Ross, Director of Bands. Proceeds from both ticket sales and the silent auction will go toward supporting the Jupiter High School Band program’s operating expenses, ensuring continued access to high-quality music education and performance opportunities for students.
